It’s been quite a year at the refuge, with many happy dogs finding new families, and, sadly, even more of them coming in and needing our love and care. However, maybe this’ll be the year they find homes of their own?
With the continuing crisis hitting Spain hard, a quarter of the working force is currently unemployed, many people are forced to cut back on expenses. Unfortunately, this includes their pets. Also, a lot of British expats are moving back to Britain because times are tough and leaving behind their pets. We try to find as many new homes for them as we can and if you are thinking of moving back to Britain and feel you have to leave your pet behind because of regulations, please contact your vet or go online as the laws on taking your dog to Britain aren’t as strict or as complicated as they once were. Your vet can help you!
But it’s not all doom and gloom: many of our dogs have found happy new homes in 2010 and a lot of work has been done on the refuge to keep the dogs safe and happy. Kind donors have given us Scalibor collars and medicine and money: from all of us, and the dogs, of course: thank you!
Let’s make it a smashing new year.
